Bruce’s Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cream together:
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar

In a small bowl, mix:
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate, melted & cooled

In a large bowl, sift together:
1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ tsp baking soda
2 cups rolled oats

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix.
Add 1 ½ cups chocolate chips

Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 13 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

Bruce created this recipe by merging two recipes from the 1983 Tenth Anniversary Cookbook of Unit 6 United Church Women.
